On Friday, an order by the municipal council was quashed by the Bombay High Court, thus allowing Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena hold Dussehra rally on October 5 at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.
In its order, the court said “Video recording of the entire function to be done and if it’s found that petitioners are responsible for creating any law and order situation, it would affect their permission in the future.
It was also observed by the High Court that misuse of powers had taken place by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to decide the application of the petitioners. Moreover, Uddhav Thackeray-led faction has been directed by the court to approach the BMC ward officer along with the order, for seeking permission as per the 2016 GR.
