In view of the Covid pandemic, the Thane Municipal Corporation has urged the people to celebrate Navratri in a simple manner. Navratri will start from 7th October and will last upto 15th October.

Keypoints:

  • It is mandatory for mandals to set up pandals and to take prior online permission from the TMC.
  • Only five people will be allowed for physical darshan at pandals.
  • Sufficient care must be taken while organising arti, bhajan, kirtan and other religions programmes.
  • More than 10 workers or devotees will not be present in the mandap during the aarti.
  • The ones who will be present must strictly adhere to the rules related to masks and social distancing.
  • Idols of the goddess must not be more than 4 feet for public circles and 2 feet for the domestic ones.

Instead of organising garba events, the Civic body has appealed to the organisations to hold blood donation camps and raise awareness related to vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue.
