While talking about the importance of following a nutritious diet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that the month of September will be observed as “Nutrition Month”.

With September just a day away, the national nutrition month, is all set to curb hunger. After tackling severe Malnourishment during the Covid-19 pandemic, the poshan maah is being kept a close watch this year. In his Mann ki Baat on 30th August 2020 PM, Narendra Modi laid emphasis on creating awareness to fight malnutrition.

Since nutrition and nation go hand in hand, what we eat may affect not just our physical health but also our mental health.

PM Modi while addressing the nation also mentioned that nutrition cards and monitors will be implemented especially for students to keep a close health check on.

The government is said to be working on an Indian agricultural database that will state facts about nutrients in millets, whole grains, etc.

However public participation is going to be the trigger point for the nutrition month to be successful.
