On Tuesday, Union Minister Narayan Rane said he had not committed any offence. Rane is booked for his remark against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Rane made a remark about slapping Uddhav Thackeray. Thackeray did not know about the year of India’s Independence. Three FIR’s have been registered against Narayan Rane.

“I have not committed any offence. The reports of my arrest are not true. I have not received any notice of the legal action or arrest notice,” Rane said on Tuesday.

However, Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil defended Rane, “it was against protocol for the state government to arrest Union Minister Narayan Rane.”

“All this arrest drama has been crafted by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to divert public attention from the fact that Rane is receiving overwhelming support in the Kokan region during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra,” Patil said, speaking to the media.

Patil said, “In the past, even Uddhav Thackeray had called Narendra Modi a thief.”
