Young Indian Chess player Nihal Sarin has been professed a winner in the 2020 Junior Speed Online Chess Championship of Chess.com in Chennai. Sarin has beaten Russia’s World Junior No.6, Alexey Sarana by 18-7.
The 16-year old Sarin has earned $8,766 along with this win. Sarin has also been able to qualify for the 2020 Speed Chess Championship Final, which will be featuring world’s best players. the 16-year old and has also become enable to qualify for the 2020 Speed Chess Championship Final which will be featuring the world’s best players. Sarin had earlier lost in the first round of the 2019 Junior Speed Chess Event.

Master Title by: “Fédération Internationale des Échecs” (FIDE)
Nihal’s first big break came at the World Youth Chess Championship in the Under-10 category, which was held in Durban, South Africa in September 2014. He scored 9/11 to be crowned the Under-10 World Champion. For this achievement, he was conferred the Candidate Master (CM) title by FIDE.
The former World Under-10 champion, is now a part of the Indian men’s team that has been taking part in the Asian Online Nations (Regions) Cup Team Championship which began on October 10, 2020.
