The ‘found and lost’ MONOLITH in several parts of the globe since November has now been spotted in India’s Ahmedabad city on Thursday. The monolith has emerged in a garden in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The shiny steel structural appearance is the first of its kind in India.
The mystery around the object did not last long in the country as it was revealed that a private company has installed it. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s assistant director of parks and gardens Dilipbhai Patel said he was aware about the monolith in the park.
“The monolith has been placed there by the Symphony Ltd which takes care of the garden. The structure has been installed by the company for the visitors. People can see their reflection on the shiny surfaces of the structure and take selfies too,” said Director, AMC’s Garden Department, Jignesh Patel.
The triangular prism-shaped structure is around 7 feet tall and became famous among the park-goers, making it instantly a newsworthy thing.
The garden where the ‘Monolith’ was seen, is jointly managed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Symphony Ltd. Situated near Gurudwara in Thaltej area, SG Highway.
The Monolith has some numbers carved on one of its side that are only visible to someone who is extremely close to the object. The engraved numbers are heard to be related to an affinity towards nature and protection of Wildlife, or a number that the private company itself has printed on the Monolith. However, the exact reason for the etched numbers will only be revealed after study.
The first such three-sided steel monolith appeared and disappeared after a few days in a remote desert of Utah, United States. Later, similar structures were spotted in around 30 countries that include Romania, France, Poland, the UK, Columbia and now, India.
