On Thursday, the city reported 577 Covid cases, the highest in around 77 days. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has maintained that the situation is under control and there is no need to panic but need to stay vigilant.
According to the State Health Department, on Thursday, new cases have taken the toll to 768,610 wherein the city also reported one death that took the toll to 16, 367. The recovery rate stands at 97% with 746,872 recoveries and the mortality rate stands at 2.12%.
In the second half of December, the number of daily tests has risen slightly with around 40,000 to 50,000 tests being conducted daily. With this, the daily positivity rate has also risen.
