Mumbai police is gearing up to offer new counseling programme for women who have survived rape, assaults and domestic violence. This is happening in the aftermath of the Sakinaka rape and murder incident.
Officials have said that with the help of this initiative, they will help the survivors in dealing with the trauma they face due to such incidents.
There will be a counseling session for the accused too once they get out of jail, so that they do not commit a similar crime once again.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale has confirmed the development of the programme and has also said that it will start within the next 10 days.
