On Tuesday, the city saw a massive surge in the Covid cases as it reported 1,377 new Covid cases which was a steep rise from 809 infections that were reported a day ago and one more death, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Amid the rise in Covid cases and its new variant, the BMC issued fresh guidelines for the city.
- Night curfew has been imposed in the city from 9 pm to 6 am.
- Private parties on the terraces are prohibited.
- No new year celebration programmes/functions/gatherings/parties or any activity should take place in closed or open spaces.
- Celebration including 1000+ attendees will need prior authorization from local disaster management authority.
- Restaurants, gyms, and cinemas to operate at 50% capacity.
- Only vaccinated citizens to be allowed at public places,
