The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has finally got its ultimate date of conducting the exams on March 21, 2021. There was a huge protest in Pune by the appearing students as the MPSC date had been rescheduled for the third time since February.

On Thursday, after the MPSC declared the postponement, thousands of students in Pune across the state started protesting. Seeing the chaos, Maharashtra’s chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had to intervene in the matter and the CM then promised the students that the date will be of before 22nd March and hence, Sunday, March 21st, 2021 is the final date.

As per the new circular issued by the state relief and rehabilitation department, the MPSC stated, “The preliminary exam which was earlier scheduled on March 14 is now going to be held on March 21 across the state at the same centres. The students who have received the hall ticket to appear for the exam (earlier scheduled on March 14), will be valid for the March 21 exam as well.”

The MPSC 2020 preliminary exam was earlier scheduled to be held in April and is being postponed since then. The exams had earlier been postponed thrice because of various reasons, including the Covid-19 pandemic situation and the Maratha reservation issue.

The social media platforms were raging with anger of the aspirants because of the recent postponement of the exam. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had assured candidates that the exam has not been postponed for long this time. Soon after, revised dates were announced.

Some of the Guidelines for the Exams:

  • The exam will be held amid COVID precautions.
  • The staff appointed on the MPSC exam duty will have to be COVID-19 negative to be able to enter the exam hall.
  • Wearing masks is mandatory
  • Maintaining social distancing amid other precautions will also be practiced.
