The Covid cases are on a decline. After reviewing the situation in the first week of October, the Maharashtra Government will consider lifting the remaining Covid restrictions.
On Tuesday, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has said that the State authorities will be meeting after October 8 and will lift the remaining restrictions if the cases still remain in the declining trend.
“We will have a meeting after October 8 wherein we will decide whether to allow other activities as well… The chief minister has decided to reopen all activities gradually, like theatres, etc. which were not allowed so far. We are taking stock of the situation and taking steps [to reopen] and if the situation keeps improving then definitely we will see a different picture in Maharashtra, said Ajit Pawar.
Maharashtra Government has started its graded unlocking of the restrictions since the month of August.
The state government had announced the reopening of schools and places of worship from October 4 and October 7. Sometime later, CM Thackeray also announced that the cinema halls and auditoriums will reopen from October 22.
