A digital fingerprint as well as an iris scanning system will be launched by Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray this Saturday to support the investigation process with regards to the database of 6.5 lakh people having crime records.
Former CM Devendra Fadnavis had given his approval for the project in November 2016 and a state-level committee was also constituted for the project drafting purpose. In the same month, a work order of Rs.53.6 crore was issued in which the contract for the project was given to Smart Chip Pvt.Ltd.
