Keeping the Covid situation in the view, Maharashtra government has decided to cancel the HSC exams which was all set to start from April 23 but later it got postponed due to the pandemic.
On Thursday, Vijay Wadettiwar said that Maharashtra government has decided to cancel class 12th board exams in the view of the pandemic. Maharashtra government hasn’t yet finalised the evaluation criteria for the students.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad said that students’ health remains the top priority for the state government. She also added that a proposal was sent to the authority of disaster management regarding the state board exams for Class 12 students.
“There is no doubt that Std. XIIth exams are an important milestone in a student’s life but given the current circumstances the health and mental well-being of our children should be prioritized,” as per Varsha Gaikwad.
State board examinations were decided to be held in the month of April and May but, the schedule got disrupted due to the pandemic.
Class 10th board exams have already been cancelled by the state government and the evaluation criteria has also been released.
Maharashtra government noted that, “All those who were to appear for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams will be promoted, and marks will be given on the basis of the internal assessment of their performance this year and that of Class 9.”
State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has said that the results for class 10th students will be declared by the end of June.
