The Bombay High Court has said that the Government of Maharashtra should implement its policy so as to promote the Marathi language. This was said by the court while directing to hold the public prosecutor exams in Marathi in Maharashtra.

On September 7, an order was passed by a division bench of Justices S.V Gangapurwala and R.N Laddha on a petition that was filed by Pratap Jadhav. The petition sought to hold public prosecutor exams in Marathi also, instead of holding the exams in the English language only.

In the order, the court has said that the Government of Maharashtra ought to stay serious in the matter. The court also said that on September 11, 2022, the examination is scheduled for which it is not possible to pass an order. It added that it will ensure that the examination for public prosecutors will be conducted in English and Marathi next year.
