Maharashtra Government asks people to put on masks in districts with Covid case rise

Maharashtra Government has stepped up testing amid the rise in Covid-19 cases and has asked people to put on masks in districts with rise in Covid cases.

In the number of daily infections across the state, the Mumbai city has been constantly reporting more than 300 cases. For the last three days, Maharashtra has been recording over 500 Covid cases, thus concerning the government. 

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that Covid cases are marginally rising in a few clusters like Pune, Palghar and Thane. 

He said “First, the count of tests that we are doing needs to be increased. Currently, we are doing around 30,000-40,000 tests daily in areas where cases are on the rise, we have issued orders to increase the number of tests as well,” quoted India Today.
