In the last one month, nearly 1.29 lakh loudspeakers were either taken down or the decibel level of those loudspeakers were decreased throughout UP. Out of these numbers, 71,000 loudspeakers were removed from the places of worship and the volume of the remaining loudspeakers were decreased. The ones that were removed have been given to the schools for the purpose of education.
An officer said that over 4,371 loudspeakers were donated for the schools’ morning assemblies and nearly 940 loudspeakers were given to the public address systems.
On April 23, orders were issued from the UPs home department to remove the loudspeakers from the places of worship.
