On Tuesday, the cases in Maharashtra rose by 40% due to an increased number of testing on weekdays. The daily tally of Mumbai has also recorded an increase of nearly 30% – 1,310 on Monday and 1,781 on Tuesday.
At 16.9%, the daily test positivity rate (TPR) continues to stay high. Last week, the number of daily hospitalizations in Mumbai stood at 110, but on Tuesday, the number dropped to 87. Covid-19 update by the BMC says that currently, 626 patients are in the hospital.
A single Covid death was registered in the state, it was of an 85-year-old man who was suffering from several chronic diseases.
