Maharashtra: Colleges and Universities to provide extra time for exams to be conducted in offline mode

Extra time will be given to the students who are giving final year examinations in offline mode across the state universities and colleges affiliated to them. For every one hour of the written exam, the students will be given 15 minutes extra, announced State’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant. It was on Wednesday when the decision was taken along with the vice chancellors of State Universities. 

On Wednesday, the minister said that due to the pandemic, the students have lost their writing habit. Furthermore, Samant tweeted that students and communities have been demanding the same for which a decision has been taken.

An exam conducted for the duration of two hours, students will get 30 minutes extra. The Mumbai University is conducting exams for professional courses as well as the second year exams for traditional courses in the offline mode. Late on Wednesday evening, a circular to this effect was issued by the Mumbai University. In the circular, it was mentioned that the same will be applicable for the exams being conducted in colleges too.
