On Thursday, Maharashtra registered more than 1,000 cases of Covid, whereas Mumbai reported 700 cases for the second day in a row. The number of cases urged CM Thackeray to stress more on the citizens to make use of masks and go ahead for voluntary vaccinations.

Amid the surge in cases, a meeting was chaired between the CM as well as senior officials and the taskforce to tackle the rise in the cases. The CM said that the Covid numbers will be closely monitored for the coming 15 days before taking a decision on reintroducing the curbs. He also said that in order to avoid Covid curbs, the citizens will have to follow the norms such as wearing masks and opting for voluntary vaccinations.
