Maharashtra – 20,000 Covid-19 cases recorded the highest single day spike

On Saturday, Maha saw the biggest count in a day of 20,000 cases. The total number of cases in Maharashtra has escalated to about 9 lakh.

The tally on the 4th day jumped to 20,489 marking the highest after the previous 19,218 per day. The death toll has neared 26,000 in the state.

‘MY FAMILY MY RESPONSIBILITY’ (Majhe Kutumb – Majhi Jababdari) campaign to be launched by the Government with the help of NGO’s and elected representatives to curb the virus confirmed CM Uddhav Thackeray on Friday. The camp with beginning from September 15 to screen 2.25 crore families for the possible coronavirus. The campaign will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will end by October 10 and the second will begin between October 12 and October 24.

“We have informed the Centre through Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, that oxygen cylinders should be provided at a 50-50 ratio so that equal share is supplied to both health services and industries,” Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said talking about the Coronavirus hike and severity.

Pune remains the worst affected in Maharashtra with 1,94,559 cases to date, while the fatalities have risen to 4,377 now.

In Pune, 80 of the medical staff including half the doctors and the nurses quit their jobs reasoning personal safety.

With 33 fatalities, Mumbai’s death toll increased to 7,832 and the number of corona cases increased by a shocking 1,737 to touch 1,53,712.

Nagpur, Kolhapur, and Satara are the next in the list for the most affected cities in the state.
