Omicron has been labelled as a highly infectious variant by the experts. The state has seen 198 fresh Omicron cases amid the fear of a third Covid wave and has logged 5,368 new Covid infections in the last 24 hours.
Mumbai also witnessed a massive surge with 3,671 infections that is 46% higher than yesterday.
In the last week, India’s financial capital has witnessed a five-fold increase of the Covid infections; wherein the city had logged 683 infections last Friday.
