On Tuesday, five women who are connected with the alleged incident of a girl who was forced to remove her innerwear before giving the NEET exam were arrested by the Kerala police. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) was conducted for the undergraduate medical course in Kollam over the weekend.
After recording the girl’s statement, a case was registered by the police over the incident under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (uttering any word or making gestures intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. The case was registered at the Chadayamangalam police station in Kollam Rural police station.
Additionally, the police were approached by four more girls having a similar complaint.
