Flights between India and UK begin from January 6 – Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

On Saturday, the Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri said that the flights between India and the UK will resume from 6 January while operations from the UK to India will resume on 8 January.

The center has given permission to the airlines from both India as well as the United Kingdom to resume 15 flights each, every week between January 8 and January 23. The tentative schedule of the flights has been given out to the customers.

The schedule is valid till January 23rd said Puri and thirty flights in total will fly every week till the valid date. However, flight operations will be restricted and will only be operated to and from the national capital, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

In tweet on January 2 Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri mentioned, “It has been decided that flights between India & UK will resume from 8 Jan 2021. Operations till 23 Jan will be restricted to 15 flights per week each for carriers of the two countries to & from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru & Hyderabad only.” Puri had earlier said in a tweet, on January 1 adding that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA) will be issuing details regarding the move shortly.

Flights will be allowed from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad only till January 23.

Six flights will operate to and from Delhi, Five to and from Mumbai and Two to and from Hyderabad. Vistara will operate one flight per week to and from Delhi and Mumbai each.

The screening protocols during the flights will be specially taken care of and the rules given out by the Union Health Ministry will be strictly followed.
