The record construction of this 1200 km’s Delhi Mumbai expressway is rated up to 40 km per day. As per the Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari’s speech, the highway will be ready in 2022 rather than 2024 .

The highlights include :

  • Delhi Mumbai Expressway ready by 2022
  • 12 hours from Delhi to Mumbai.
  • This 8 Lane Delhi Mumbai Expressway will reduce time by 12 hours.
  • 75 rest stops at 50 km intervals will be constructed on any one side of the Expressway.
  • The whole distance will be reduced by 220 km.
  • This will be a flagship expressway with a 120kmph speed limit.

The Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today announced that the Delhi Mumbai Expressway will be read with the construction in 2022 and will play an important role in building the infrastructure and getting the industrial importance back to the city. This expressway is one of the seven under construction currently and will contribute towards infrastructural development, manufacturing hubs in the country and along with it will help in decreasing cost and travel time too.

Gadkari stressed more on the fact that this development won’t only bring importance to the industries here will also help us in decreasing the cost involved in logistics. He also announced that the Expressway will be ready to use in 2022, which is much ahead of the 2024 deadline. This 1200 km stretched expressway is expected to cut the journey time of 12 hours between these two cities.

Gadkari also mentioned that this project is a flagship expressway with a 120 kmph speed limit and is one the seven ones to be constructed across India and is expected to function smoothly and affect the industry and the city in a positive way.  It’s Rs. 82,514 crore project and will soon have provisions of 75 rest ways and highway malls at an interval of 50 kms.

As we know, India is already home to the world’s second-largest road infrastructure but such projects will definitely add up to the country’s collection and the history of development.
