To fasten up the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the country, the Indian Government announced on April 19 about a ‘LIBERALISED and ACCELERATED’ phase 3 strategy of Covid-19 vaccination from May 1.
The registration for the third Covid vaccination drive for people above 18 years begins today on UMANG APP and AAROGYA SETU APP at 4pm. People can also register themselves through the CoWin platform.
Aaroya Setu app was launched last year. Citizens can register themselves through Aarogya Setu app or the government’s CoWin portal.
For the 3 phase of vaccination drive, people will have to mandatorily register themselves on the portal, walk-ins will not be allowed, said the government.

Answering some questions about the registration process,
1. When does the registration begin?
The registration for the 3 phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive for people above 18 years begins from today.
2. Where can you register yourself for the vaccine?
All the people coming under the mentioned criteria can register themselves through the government’s CoWin portal.

3. How can you register?
For the registration, you will provide some basic information like,
- Details of your photo identification card.
- Register using your mobile number – One can register 4 people from one mobile number, however, each person will need their own photo identification document.
- If you use your Aadhar card as your identification document, your consent will be obtained and recorded.
- You can schedule your vaccination appointment at your choice of Centre for May 1 onwards.
For registration via Aarogya Setu app, you will have to:
- Open the app, click on CoWin tab on the homescreen.
- Select “vaccination registration” and enter your phone number after which you will receive an OTP.
- Click on verify. You will then be directed to the registration page.
- Follow the same steps as mentioned above to register.
On the day of the appointment, you will have to carry the appointment slip and photo ID which you used at the time of booking your appointment.
Documents required for the registration of eligible beneficiary:
- Any of the below mentioned identity card with photo can be given for the registration.
- Aadhaar Card
- Driving License
- Health Insurance Smart card issued under Ministry of Labour Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) Job card.
- Official identity card issued to MPs/ MLAs/ MLCs.
- Pan Card
- Passbook issued by bank/post office
- Passport
- Pension Document
- Service Identity Card issued to employees by Central / State Government / Public ltd. Companies.
- Voter ID
How will the beneficiary receive the details about the due date of vaccination?
After you have registered online, the beneficiary will receive SMS on their registered mobile number about the due date, place and time of vaccination.
