The state’s latest statistics show that Palghar and Thane have reported the highest jump in news Covid cases at 350% and 192%. The city of Mumbai has witnessed the third highest case jump with 136%.
Currently, in Maharashtra, there are three districts including Raigad and Pune that have collectively witnessed more than 136% Covid case surge since May’s last week and is a part of the surge in cases.
On Monday, the state cabinet held a detailed discussion about the surge in Covid cases, leaving Maharashtra with the second highest tally of active cases per million population in the country.
