Every human being at some point in their life has felt the pangs of dismay at the social injustice prevalent in our country and felt driven to create a difference.

“What difference can I make alone?”, is a question that has troubled the heart of every such person who wants to work for social welfare and if you’ve wondered the same, this app is the solution to your problem.

‘For A Change’ is a newly launched, homegrown app by a dynamic duo from Vadodara, Mr. Rahil Vadsariya and Mr. Furqaan Shaikh built and designed to connect people with a penchant for social work.

“If you care about a cause, you are not alone. You shouldn’t be alone.”, believes Mr. Rahil Vadsariya, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of the App.

Speaking to INN, Mr. Vadsariya said, “We have LinkedIn for professional connections and we have Instagram, Facebook and Twitter that connect us with family members and friends we already know but there is no social platform that enables like-minded people who are committed to a similar cause to join hands and work together.”

As a child growing up in a country like ours, Vadsariya displayed exceptional compassion and empathy towards the destitute and underprivileged. He felt an innate drive to give back to society and bring about a meaningful change for the economically disadvantaged that creates an impact. This precocious, young visionary went on to lay the foundation for this change when he joined an NGO at 22. While working with this NGO and teaching underprivileged kids, Vadsariya realised that even as every sector in India is digitalised, Social Work was left behind. The idea struck him when he was appointed the Social Media Head at the NGO he was working in and faced the challenges that the lack of such a platform posed for welfare organisations.

It is here that he learnt how difficult traditional social media platforms make it to reach the target audience, a task that is impossible unless one opts for paid promotions.

“This is a detrimental barrier for small, local NGOs that often lack the resources to scour volunteer applications or secure funding through social media through paid promotions and organic reach fails to bring in the traction that these organisations require. It is time consuming and tedious.”, Mr. Vadsariya quipped.

‘For A Change’ is more than just a social media app, it is an online community builder that helps you form a circle that shares your interest in working for a cause.

Signing up to this app is as easy as making an Instagram account. You register, you enter the OTP and you’re good to go.”, Mr. Vadsariya said on how the app will work.

The App will be divided into 4 sections – Feed, Messages, Activities and Profile. Users will be able to select the causes they are interested in as well as the skills they can offer. This App will match them with NGOs or other people who are interested in the same cause in their area. As for the feed, the feed will show posts from people who are committed to a similar cause to aid networking and like minded people finding each other.

Mr. Rahil Vadsariya’s vision for a platform for change makers manifested in this app which was launched on 2nd October, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The app is available on the Play Store and will shortly be launched on the App Store too.
