On Wednesday, colleges in Maharashtra got approval to re-open offline classes for the students who are fully vaccinated. Physical classes will begin from October 20.
The state government will declare guidelines for the institutes, however, the final call will be taken by the local civic body along with individual universities.
The government has said that colleges can operate only at 50% capacity.
Online learning will continue as only fully vaccinated students will be allowed for physical classes.
“The state government will also request railways for permission to board local trains for students. Teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges should also be fully vaccinated, said state higher and technical education minister Uday Samant.
