From Saturday, today, the price of Compressed Natural gas (CNG) has been hiked by Rs.2 per kg along with taxes, while the rate of piped cooking gas has risen to Rs.1.50 per unit.
The revised price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) now stands at Rs.63.50 per kg, whereas the rate of piped gas stands at Rs.38 per unit.
In Mumbai this year, the rate of CNG has risen to around Rs.16 in a period of 11 months that seems to be a big burden on more than 8 lakh consumers including more than 3 lakh private car users.
In the past 3 months, this is the fourth hike. Moreover, there is a demand from the owners of Kaali Peeli taxi and autorickshaw unions to hike Rs.5 and Rs.2 in the minimum fares.
