On Thursday, a senior government official said that the Centre is all ready to incorporate the Yehzabo – the Naga Constitution in the Indian Constitution. A cultural and civil flag for the Nagas has also been agreed upon.
The official said, “The Yehzabo will be incorporated into the Indian Constitution by presenting a Bill in Parliament. As far as the flag is concerned, it will only be used for civil and cultural functions, but not in any government functions,” as quoted and reported by The Hindu.
Mr. Patton, representing the BJP in 60-member Opposition less Nagaland Assembly said, “The Centre is clear that there cannot be two constitutions and two flags in the country. The NSCN-IM is stuck on the demand for a separate flag and constitution.”
