Students of both government and private schools across Maharashtra who are not in a position to benefit from online classes due to various issues can now join BMC’s online classes for free. This shifting has come in the wake of many students being removed from online classes due to the non-payment of fees.
According to a state school education department circular issued on Thursday, the government will make available the benefit of free online education in BMC schools for students to study.
Parents can enroll their wards for online education by filling up a form on BMC’s portal https://portal.mcgm.gov.in/irj/portal/anonymous
Once an application for admission to online sessions is accepted, the students and parents will be provided with a link and password, said the circular, adding that the students will be bound to attend the classes regularly.
Students will also be mandated to follow directions and participate in the assessment of learning outcomes, it added.
Students studying in Marathi, Hindi, and Urdu medium schools from class 1 to 10 can attend BMC’s virtual classes, which are conducted on Zoom, for their respective grades. The corporation also runs one CBSE and one ICSE school from Junior KG to class 6. The civic body’s education officer Mahesh Palkar said if his department receives applications from students of these boards they too will be welcomed.
