On Monday, the State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has put it on the Centre to decide the norms about loudspeakers which can be followed by the states. Walse commented this during an all party meeting which was set up to discuss the issue regarding loudspeakers on mosques after the ultimatum given by MNS Chief Raj Thackeray.

Walse Patil said “The Supreme Court has given orders on use of loudspeakers in public places in 2005. In such a scenario it is best if Centre makes a decision so it can be implemented by all states,” quoted The Times Of India. He also said that the state parties must meet the Central leaders and then they should seek a decision.

Walse added “The law does not provide for the state to put or remove loudspeakers, it’s important that those who have put up take adequate care,” quoted The Times Of India.

Eknath Shinde, the Shiv Sena leader has said that this week, the issue will be discussed in the cabinet.
