On Monday, Alt News Co-founder Mohammad Zubair was arrested by the Delhi Police, the reason for this was promoting enmity on the grounds of religion and also deliberately hurting religious feelings through a tweet.

Mohammad Zubair was booked under section 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 153 A (for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony).

The case revolves around a complaint made against the Co-founder about an objectionable tweet that led to a thread of controversial debates.
