Ian Jones, a British man who is a charity worker is currently recovering from a Cobra bite in Jodhpur. When it seems that there’s nothing unique in this story, here is the newness. Its not the first time that Jones is in the hospital. The young man has survived coronavirus, dengue and malaria since his visit to India.
AFP reported that, Ian Jones, who is originally from the Isle of Wight, was admitted to a local hospital after he was bitten by an Indian black king cobra in a village near Jodhpur city last week. Jones is currently facing common snake bites symptoms like Blurred Vision and difficulty in Walking. The Doctors have said that the symptoms will pass with time.
In a rural area of Jodhpur district, in the desert, Jones was bitten by an Indian Cobra and was then admitted to a hospital in Jodhpur city which is about 350 kilometres away from the regional capital, Jaipur.
On Saturday, Dr. Abhishek Tater who treated Jones at the local Medipulse Hospital said, “Jones came to us last week after a snake bite in a village in the region. Initially it was suspected that he is also Covid-19 positive (for the second time) but he tested negative for that.”
Ian was said to live in the social enterprise’s warehouse in Jodhpur, closer to the people he supports. Claire Robertson, from Community Action Isle of Wight, which runs the enterprise, told the BBC that while in the area of the warehouse, Ian’s dog Ricky reached in for his help but, because of Ricky’s sudden movement, the snake bit Jones twice.
“Dad is a fighter, during his time out in India he had already suffered from malaria and dengue fever before Covid-19,” his son, Seb Jones, said in a statement on a GoFundMe page set up to help pay his medical bills and travel back to the Isle of Wight in southern England.
