On Wednesday, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant announced that physical classes in all colleges and universities in Maharashtra would be discontinued till immediate effect. Samant confirmed that the colleges and universities will remain closed till February 15, 2021. Along with this, dormitories/ hostels would also be closed during this period.
Considering the present situation, the Minister also announced that all the examinations would be conducted online. According to the order, the decision applies to all the non-agricultural universities as well as private universities and colleges in Maharashtra. As the exams will be conducted online, if in any case, a student is unable to appear for the exam online, the student will be given adequate help by the college to make sure that the year is not affected. All colleges have been asked to start a student helpline to help students during this time.
