On Wednesday, the city recorded 2,510 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With these new infections, the tally has gone up more than 80% of the daily Covid cases recorded in the city a day ago at 1,333.
As per the latest and updated figures given by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai has reported one related death and 251 recoveries. Currently, Mumbai has 8,060 active cases.
Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray had said that the city is likely to cross the 2,000 mark in Covid cases given the number of fresh cases being recorded over the past week.
