On Monday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Central Government has NO plans in accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender in India.
When questioned about the Bitcoin transactions blooming in the country, Sitharaman said that the Centre does not collect any data on Bitcoin transactions in the country.
During the Winter Session of the parliament, the government is all geared up to introduce the ‘Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021’.
