On November 10, various ministers had made recommendations in this regard to the Prime Minister’s office. This move will be helping victims of drug abuse and will help them to come out of addiction from the same.
The winter session of the parliament is beginning on Monday in which the Narendra Modi-led central government is likely to list a bill that will decriminalize drug addiction.
It is expected from this amendment that it will amend the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021. This aims to decriminalize possession of a limited quantity of drugs for personal use.
