Very soon, vaccinated passengers will now be able to book their suburban railway tickets and pass through the mobile application of the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS).
This proposal is being discussed with the Maharashtra Government by the Central and Western Railways. The sale of suburban railway tickets on UTS was stopped when the trains were suspended due to the pandemic.
In order to determine the vaccination status of the passengers, the mobile application of UTS will be linked to the Cowin application.
Only the passengers who are fully vaccinated and have completed 14 days after the second dose will be allowed to travel through local trains on the Central and Western Railway.
