On Monday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued color codes to States and Districts according to the amount of rainfall the areas will receive.
The color codes are nothing but warnings as per the intensity of the weather in the places.
Red color associates to the highest intensity and Green color to the lowest of all.
The IMD has issued Red alert for Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra, Orange alert for Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra Karnataka and Assam and a Yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, parts of West Bengal and Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy rains are also expected over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Vidarbha in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Mahe.
