On Monday, the Supreme Court declared that the seven months ago granted bail to a man who was arrested for killing his sister’s husband in Rajasthan has been Cancelled.
The trial has to be completed by the trial court within the span of a year.
The SC bench was headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and he cancelled the bail of Mukesh Chaudhary, a prime susn the 2017 Amit Nair murder case.
Mamata, Amit’s wife, challenged the high court order of granting bail to her accused brother Mukesh.
“Yes, the bail granted to Mukesh has been cancelled. He has been asked to surrender,” Indira Jaising, a senior counsel appearing for Mamata told The Wire as he could be a threat to Mamata and her child.
“We still don’t feel safe, especially if the accused keep getting out on bail,” Mamta told The Wire.
