From the beginning itself, Olymoians have inspired the world with their splendid talent and their work. Today is the day to celebrate the Olympics and the event itself. We have known for years that the Olympics is an international event consisting of various games from all across the globe, players participate and represent their respective countries.
Since the world is facing the pandemic, athletes from all across the globe have been helping their fans with their workout routines and some of them have been donating to the needy. Athletes have been highlighting the importance of workouts and mental health during these unprecedented times of Covid-19. Last year, due to the pandemic, the celebration had gone online. The Olympic movement had celebrated the day by creating the world’s largest 24 hour digital first olympic workout.
It was from 6 April to 15 April 1896 that the first Olympic games were held in Athens (Greece). The Olympics were introduced in the year 1948 for the birth of modern Olympic Games on 23 June 1894 at the Sorbonne in Paris. As a result, the first Olympic day was celebrated on 23 June, 1948 by 9 National Olympic Committees (NOC).
Today, 23 June, 2021, the world celebrates World Olympic Day. This day is observed by hundreds of thousands of people, participating in sports activities, such as runs, exhibitions, music and educational seminars.
The Olympic day is based on 3 pillars:

- Learn
- Discover
The first pillar refers to all sorts of physical activities for individuals of all ages and abilities. Individuals, team sports are a part of it. The main catch here is for people to indulge themselves in physical activities to be active on Olympics day. The second move refers to the lessons of humanity, education, HIV prevention, checking human trafficking, women empowerment, health awareness, environmental protection, peacebuilding, local community development, friendship, and respect of all human beings. The third move is all about inviting people to try new sports activities that they have never done before. With this, they get an opportunity to try all those sports activities which they haven’t tried before or are not so known in their region.
Throughout the world, the goal of World Olympic day is to promote people’s participation in various sports with no discrimination of gender, age and ability. This day was introduced among the general public to highlight and increase the awareness about health and sports.
Across the globe, World Olympic Day is not just observed for sports, but it is a serious international effort to promote fitness and well being.
