  • India continues to report more than 3 lakh cases for the past few days.
  • Amidst the rising number of cases, Maharashtra has extended statewide lockdown to 15 more days till May 15.

The country continues to log 3 lakh plus cases from the past few days making the situation more alarming. Vice President of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has called PM Modi a ‘Super Spreader’ of the virus and holds him responsible for the rapid spread of the second wave.

Dr. Dahiya has said that while the Medical fraternity was giving in their 100 percent to make people understand the importance to follow Covid-19 norms, PM was addressing huge election rallies defying the Covid protocols.

The top official of IMA further said that despite the severity of health crisis, election rallies and religious congregations like the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar continued, raising questions over the seriousness of Modi-led Union government to tackle the spread of the deadly virus.

“The scarcity of medical oxygen has become the reason for the death of many patients in every part of the country against the fact that several projects for installing the oxygen are still pending with the Union government for clearance, but no heed was given to such an important need by the Modi government,” he added.

He added that the impact of Covid pandemic was clearly visible across India with the bodies piling up in the crematoriums and long queues of ambulances outside hospitals in almost every city of the country.

Global news outlets have criticised PM Modi and his government’s handling of the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.
