Yes! You guessed it right. It is the same man that you have been seeing videos since Saturday evening, who risked his own life and ran in the direction of an arriving train to save the life of the child who happened to slip down on the Railway Tracks. Mayur Shelke is the name!
Mayur is railway pointsman who saved the life of a six-year-old boy who fell on the railway tracks at Vangani station near Mumbai in Maharashtra, by hauling him on the platform right in time when a train was arriving, said the Railway officials on Monday.
The Udyan Express was coming in when railway employee Mayur Shelke (30) heard cries of a woman standing on the platform, shouting helplessly. Shelke, whose job is to check railway signals, noticed that her son, a 6-year-old, had slipped onto the railway track below. The boy tried climbing over on the track but failed miserably and his mother was seen blankly staring at the child. Shelke realized that the mother was blind.

The CCTV footage of the incident showed Shelke running towards the boy on the tracks from the opposite side right when the train was just feet away from them. The incident took place at platform number 2 of the Vangani station on April 17. The video grab shows Shelke lifting the boy onto the platform and then pulling himself up.
The Ministry of Railways posted the video with the caption – “A Good Samaritan: At Vangani station of Central Railway, Pointsman Mr. Mayur Shelkhe saved the life of a child just in the nick of the time. He risked his life to save the life of the child. We salute his exemplary courage & utmost devotion to the duty (sic).”
While caught in a bite with ANI, Mayur said, “The woman (with the child) was blind and she could do nothing. I ran towards the child but also thought that I might be in danger too. Still, I thought I should save him. The woman was very emotional and thanked me a lot. Minister Piyush Goyal also called me up.”
“I saw the kid falling and the train speeding towards him. There was no chance he would have lived had I not intervened,” Shelke said, as reported by Mid-day.
