Chief Minister Vijay Rupani donated the 85 kilograms of Silver for the welfare of livestock at cow shelters, a state government release said.
The ‘Rajat Tula’ (Weighing on the scale) event was organised by Samast Mahajan Trust, the report mentioned.
CM Vijay Rupani said that his government was committed to the welfare of livestock & had enacted a strict law against cow slaughter. According to the law, the one who slaughters cows will be jailed for up to 12 years.
Rupani also said that his government had launched ”Karuna Abhiyan” to treat birds injured during the kite festival.
Adding in to the great work by his current government in the state of Guharat, Rupani said that it also operates 350 mobile veterinary vans & offers financial assistance to cow shelters.
The state release also stated that the Gujarat CM Rupani virtually inaugurated ”Gauchar” development works in Banaskantha and Mehsana.
Steps had been taken to make such cow shelters, or panjrapole, self-sufficient by helping those running it grow fodder, the CM added.
