Nationalist Congress Party’s Chief Sharad Pawar has asked the Centre to take the ongoing Famers’ Protests seriously and said if the deadlock continues, the protests will not be limited to just Delhi and people across the country will agitate along with the protestors.

“The government should take the protesting farmers seriously but, unfortunately, it is not happening,” said Pawar. Sharad Pawar also said that the states of Punjab and Haryana contribute the most to the country’s agricultural and food supply.

“Farmers of Punjab and Haryana are providing rice and wheat on a large scale. India is exporting food grains to 13 countries in which Punjab and Haryana are playing a big role. If farmers of Punjab and Haryana are protesting, the government should take cognizance but unfortunately, that is not happening,” Sharad Pawar said.

Thousands of farmers are protesting nationwide in order to ask the government to abolish the Farm Laws that have been passed by the Parliament earlier this year. Due to this, a “Bharat Bandh” on 8th of December has also been announced.

The Union Leaders have stuck to their demands of abolishing or reconsidering the farm laws even when the fourth meeting between the protesting farmers and the government remained inclusive.

Sharad Pawar has also scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind on December 9 over the ongoing farmers’ protest against agrarian laws.
