Comedian and television personality Bharti Singh has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday under provisions of the NDPS Act 1986. The arrest comes after Bharti Singh and her husband, Harsh Limbachiya, were detained and were being questioned at the NCB offices in Mumbai on Saturday.
The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa for possession of 86.5 grams of Cannabis.
Both have been placed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) and they are likely to be produced before the holiday court on Sunday.
A court in Mumbai sent comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa to 14-day judicial custody on Sunday. The couple has been sent to judicial custody till December 4.
Haarsh was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday morning after nearly 15 hours of questioning. On Saturday evening, Singh was also arrested under provision of the NDPS Act 1986 for possession and consumption of drugs.
“Charges of consumption of drugs have been invoked against them,” said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of the NCB, Mumbai.
The NCB had earlier raided a place in Khar Danda area and nabbed a trafficker aged 21 years with various drugs. In the follow up and in corroboration with previous inputs, the NCB raided the production office and house of Bharti.
