Peace is all we need during the ongoing chaos in the world. Marking the 151st Birth Anniversary celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwar Ji Maharaj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, November 16, 2020, unveiled the ‘Statue of Peace’ in Rajasthan.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to Jainacharya including the other spiritual leaders present on the occasion. PM Narendra Modi said that he was fortunate enough to inaugurate both the ‘Vallabhs’ – Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj, statues in Gujarat and Rajasthan, respectively.

“Vijay Nityanand Surishwer Ji Maharaj used to say that the land of Gujarat gave us two Vallabhs. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the political field and Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj in the spiritual field,”
said the Prime Minister after the virtual inaugurating ceremony.

Adding to the statement he said,
“Both dedicated their lives for India’s unity and brotherhood. I am fortunate that the country gave me the opportunity to inaugurate the world’s highest ‘Statue of Unity’ by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. And today I am getting the privilege of unveiling the ‘Statue of Peace’ by Jainacharya Vijay Vallabh ji.”

“The world looks forward to India, which is seen as the example of Humanity, path of Peace, Non-Violence and Fraternity.”

Who was Jainacharya?

  • Jainacharya was a Jain Monk.
  • He worked for the religious as well as improving the social life of people.
  • He worked in Punjab and was also given the honorific Punjab Kesari.
  • Jainacharya, also known as Vallabhsuri emphasized on education and inspired Jains to build more educational institutions.
  • He is well known as the founder of Shree Parshwanath Jain Vidyalaya in 1927 at Varkana Village in Pali district of Rajasthan.
  • The Jainacharya established many institutions for girl children and brought women to the mainstream.
  • With his blessings, Bird Hospital and many gaushalas are running in the country today.

“These are not ordinary institutions. These are the embodiment of the spirit of India and the hallmarks of India and Indian values,”
expressed PM Modi.

The Statue:

  • 151 inches tall.
  • Made from Ashtadhatu e. 8 metals that include gold, silver, lead, zinc, tin, iron, antimony or mercury and most importantly copper.
  • The statue stands tall at the Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra, Jetpura, in Pali.
