Key Points : 

  • With Bhupender Yadav, Arun Singh and Kailash Vijayvargiya retained, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, D Purandareshwaei, C T Ravi, Tarun Chugh and Dilip Saikia are the new general secretaries .
  • MP Tejasvi Surya has been made the president of the party’s youth wing. Amit Malviya continues as the party’s IT cell head. Rajesh Agarwal has been appointed treasurer in place of Piyush Goyal and Mandsaur MP Sudhir Gupta will be his deputy.

BJP President JP Nadda announced the appointment of a new team of party’s national office bearers as of Saturday 26th September 2020. The newly formed team has an element of continuity as well as change.With Bhupender Yadav, Arun Singh and Kailash Vijayvargiya being retained,the list of eight general secretaries, crucial organisation position in the party as they are the link between state and central leadership, has five new faces.

The new replacements include Dushyant Kumar Gautam, D Purandareshwari, C T Ravi, Tarun Chugh and Dilip Saikia are new choices as general secretaries. Ram Madhav, P Muralidhar Rao, Saroj Pandey and Anil Jain were replaced by the above mentioned. Replacing Poonam Mahajan , Party MP Tejasvi Surya, a fiery speaker, has been made the president of the party’s youth wing. Amit Malviya continues as the party’s IT cell head. Rajesh Agarwal has been appointed treasurer in place of Piyush Goyal and Mandsaur MP Sudhir Gupta will be his deputy.

The party has also aggrandized its list of spokesperson to 23, with MP Anil Baluni being elevated as the chief spokesperson and remaining its media head. Talking about its focus on West Bengal that goes to polls next year the party is very clear with their goals as Mukul Roy is being appointed as national vice president.

Former union minister Radha Mohan Singh, who hails from Bihar and headed the panel to oversee the organisational elections, has also been made the national vice president. Former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das is also appointed as the vice president.

PM Narendra Modi congratulated the newly appointed members through a tweet which stated, ” Congratulations and best wishes to the new team. I am confident they will uphold the glorious tradition of our Party of serving the people of India selflessly and with dedication. May they work hard to empower the poor and marginalised”.

The newly appointed members also took to Twitter to thank the party for their positions. MP Tejasvi Surya tweeted “For a young karyakarta like me to be given responsibility of National Youth Wing of the world’s biggest political party in the world’s youngest country, can only happen in BJP. Thank you Sri @narendramodi Ji, National President @JPNadda Ji, Sri @AmitShah Ji for reposing faith.”
