On Friday, Maha CM Eknath Shinde said that Dahi Handi being a popular festival in the state, will be declared as a public holiday throughout Maharashtra.
CM Eknath Shinde said that “Dahi Handi celebrations are very popular in the state and with Covid-19 restrictions coming to an end, the festival will be celebrated in a big way this year.”
Adding to this, he also said that MMR already observes this festival as a public holiday. He added that in some districts, the district collectors issue public holiday notices in their districts but now he will speak with the Chief Secretary about issuing a notice for the whole of Maharashtra.
